Default Recovering Word Files

Hi, I want to recover word files that have been lost on my external HDD , I have got all them back, except now they are in the format which is seen in the picture. Is there a way to turn them back into comprehendible english?

Without access to an actual file, rather than a screenshot, it's impossible to say what might be possible. In any event, the process for each file (if recoverable) might differ.

Can you attach a file to a post? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab.

Okay here you go.

*Edited; I have deleted the attachment after a certain span of time because the file may or may not be personal. I do not know what it is cause I can't figure out how to read it.

There is nothing recoverable as a Word document from that file as it is. It appears to be data saved in a binary format that may actually be a fragment of a larger file or a file that isn't actually a Word document.
