Default Replacing text with user input.?.?.?

I'm by no means a Programmer by any means and novice with WORD.

What i am trying to accomplish is to have a key that a user can alter to change variables through out the WORD document [template]. However the ask field + bookmark + ref field info has not been working for WORD 2010. I configure the word document exact how instructed but nothing updates.

i want a word document to act as a template so that a user can open it from a centrally stored location, download it and then enter in variables to alter there doc.

any help would be appreciated.

ASK fields in Word 2010 work exactly the same as in previous versions - they create and update bookmarks that you can cross-reference. The cross-references will generally update if you do a Print Preview. Alternatively, to have all the cross-references update when you update the ASK field, simply press Ctrl-A, followed by F9, then respond to the ASK field's prompt.

To repeat data in a document, there are various methods available. For an outline, see: http://gregmaxey.com/word_tip_pages/repeating_data.html

Is there anyway that i can set the bookmark to be the field that a user enters. Once the user enters that data i want to to propagate through out a lengthy document automatically.

I'll take a look at the link you sent me. I appreciate all the help i can get on this.
