Trouble with List Number indentation and renumbering
Hi,
I've received a rather funky document. If you look at the way the list numbers are formatted (pictured below), you can see that single digit list numbers take up the same amount of "space" as a double digit list number. However, there is a numbering error. Step 1 (which I have highlighted) is actually supposed to continue the numbering, and is really supposed to be step 12: However, when I right click the highlighted list number and select "Continue Numbering", this is what happens: Step 12 is easy enough to fix - I can click and drag that little triangle slider at the top to realign it properly. However, you'll see list numbers 13 and up now take up too much space, and you can visibly see that the text coming after the list number is indented too far. How can I fix list numbers 13 and up to be properly aligned with list numbers 7 thru 11? This situation happens many times throughout the document, and so I'm looking for a solution that doesn't involve fixing each step one by one. Thanks, -Robert V. |

Hi Robert,
If you create a paragraph Style based on the layout of one of the 'fixed' paragraphs, you can then apply that Style to all the numbered paragraphs in a given sequence and have them align correctly.
