Asian typography in text boxes - how to avoid lines starting with periods
Hi. I have two Word 2010 documents in which I'm using Chinese characters. In one of them, punctuation is handled correctly. That is, when the text wraps to the next line, periods aren't placed at the beginnings of lines, opening quotation marks don't appear at the ends of lines, etc.
But for the other file, this isn't the case. I've got periods beginning lines, etc., which I want to avoid. The settings seem to be the same for both: In the Paragraph dialog box, I have "Use Asian rules for setting first and last characters" checked, and under Options have selected "Standard" for determining first and last character settings. Any suggestions for how to fix this? Thanks! Mark |
