Default Word error after Vista update

I'm have a problem with MS Word that seems to be related to the most current Visit update that occurred 1 or 2 days ago (the problem started, immeadatly after the update)....

The problem: It's not letting me select anything using the mouse within the ms word application; can use the shift key and arrows but not the mouse....

Also, when shutting down Word I'm getting an error "MS word as encountered an error while shutting down"....

I've tried: re-installing and running MS Office Diagnostics

Has anyone seen this? Or any Ideas?

Do a System Restore:

Start
Accessories
System Tools
System Restore back to a date previous to your problem

Now, try Word

If this solves your problem, then note M$ will again update your Vista to be current, but go ahead and see if Word still works
