Hi,
We have a customers template we write reports into for them. From time to time we paste something to a section of the template and the whole template becomes distorted. (Often when we paste data from a web site to this report) Once we have this problem we can not fix it and have to retype the whole thing. We retype it because if we paste from the damaged report we transfer the problem to the clean new document. Is there a correct way to paste or select what we paste? How do we look into this template and fix it once we have damaged it? Often colours are added to all the text and the margins of what must be hidden text boxes, to the right of visible headings, are completely screwed up. Can you assist? |

Try pasting in plain text format (via Home tab | Paste | Paste Special). That will preserve the text but not the formatting of the pasted data.

You can select the problem text and apply Normal style, for example by pressing Ctrl+Shift+N. Note that if this doesn't do what you hope for, press Ctrl+Z to Undo.
