I have a table of cells in Excel document that I change to "Accounting" format, when I copy and paste into a Word doc the "$" gets put on its own row and the only way to fix is to adjust the columns width. Any ideas what causes this and if there is a way to fix it. This formatting issue only occurs with the "Accounting" format.
Excel Column: $ 4.00 $ 6.00 Shows up in Word like this: $ 4.00 $ 6.00 |

It appears that the number comes in in it's own cell. Howevever, by using Paste Special and selecting Formatted text, I find the number coming in with two spaces between the $ and the number. A find and replace could easily change these to a tab, if desired.

It actually gets corrected if I select the table and drag the colun width larger. Unchecking the column width checkbox in table properties also resolves the issue. However, I am wondering if there is a way to permanently change it for any future tables that I will paste into a Word document.

Okay, try this:
Note how many rows and columns you're copying in Excel. Before pasting, select the same number of rows and columns in your Word table, then paste -- normal paste. If you have, for instance, $95.00 in one cell adn $43,945 in another, the first, when pasted, will have 4 more spaces between the $ and the number, so that the $ will all align and the numbers will all align at right. Is this what you need? |

No same issue occurs. I just want to be able to copy data from Excel that is formatted in "Accounting" format and paste it into Word without the formatting getting messed up. I have looked everywhere to look if there is a setting in word to change how the data gets pasted but nothing resolves except pasting into Word and then modifying the format to get it back to normal.
