Word opens in small window

Almost every time, when I double-click a Word file, or just double-click the Word icon, I get the splash screen and then the program opens in a tiny, 5X1 cm window, showing only the close, maximize and minimize buttons. Sometimes the splash screen is small too!

I tried maximizing, closing and reopening;


I tried enlarging the window by the handles, closing and reopening.
This happens only with Word.
I saw a thread in the Office forum from back in April, but it was not resolved

I use Word 2010 32 bit on Windows 7 64 bit.

Appreciate any thoughts. Maybe a registry tweak?

Have you tried repairing Office (by starting setup from Control Panel)?

Sorry, but after about a dozen documents that opened as they should after the repair, the problem is back!

Since repairing didn't help, further troubleshooting is required. See the Knowledge Base article Troubleshoot problems that occur when you start or use Word 2010, 2007, or 2003.

Seems to have been an add-in problem.

Thanks for the follow-up. Unfortunately, there are lots of poorly designed add-ins out there. :-(
