Why is the TOC displaying as a code?
In Word (2008 for Mac), in the normal View->Print.Layout mode, the TOC of my document displays onscreen as a code:
{ TOC \O "1-3" \H \Z \U } I guess this code is supposed to resolve to the actual fully-laid out Table of Contents - indeed, Print Preview shows it normally. How can get the TOC to expand and display properly onscreen, rather than as this cryptic code? Thanks. |

Look for an option to hide field codes. Sorry, I have never used MacWord, so I can't give you any more specific advice, except that the corresponding keyboard shortcut in WinWord is Alt+F9 (if that helps at all).
