Default MS Word File Corrupted. How can I fix?

To publish an e-book I recently uploaded an MS Word file. The file was corrupted. Here's what may have happened. I finished most of my work using MS Word 10 Starter. To add a table to contents with links I moved my file to MS Word 07 Student, then reformatted. Now, when the file goes through the e-book distributor's meatgrinder (a converter) it comes out in different e-book formats, each format has different fonts and font sizes.

Somehow, different fonts are imbedded in my MS Word document and I can't get them out. I can save the file in text, then convert to Word, but then I'd lose all my italics.

Is there another way I can strip the file of all the embedded fonts?

Thanks,

Randy kadish

Have you unchecked the 'embed fonts' option under File|Options|Save (not sure if this is available in Starter)?

Paul,

Thanks. I'm now working with the file in MS Word 07,

Don't laugh, but where to I find File - Options - Save?

In Office 2007 it's Office Button|Options>Save.

Paul,

Yes, I unchecked it but it didn't work. When the file is converted to different e-book formats the e-books all have a mix of different fonts,
Times New Roman and, I think, Calibri.

Thanks so much,

Randy

The different fonts in the ebooks are, presumably, a by-product of meatgrinder's conversion process. That really doesn't have anything to do with whether the fonts were embedded in the Word document.

Paul,
Thanks. That's what I suspect.
