Table printing out double
I'm having a little bit of trouble getting a table in a Word document of mine to print out properly. Every time I attempt to print the page the text above the table seems fine, however the text within the table seems to be duplicated for some reason (see attached image, apologies for the bad quality).
I have a similar table on a different page in the same document and that one prints out fine, so I'm not sure why this one doesn't print properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance! Mark |

Just a sort of wild guess here. IS your table editable or a picture? If you select the entire table adn cut it, is there anything behind it?

There is nothing visible on the screen if I cut the table.
If I move the table down the page and try to print the page again, the table prints in the correct new position and the 'shadowed/duplicated' texts remains in the position of the original table. (No duplicated text is ever visible on the screen, it is only when printed.) Mark |

Detective work
Well, this is the kind of thing that you have to dig into. Let me suggest:
1. Cut the table, paste it into a blank document, adn try printing the original doc to see if the "ghost"table is still there. If so, try opening the header and see if it got stuck in there somehow -- although, unless this is a one-page document section, it would tend to appear on other pages as well. 2. At the far right end of the Home tab of the ribbon. select the Select objects tool and see if that discovers an object on your page where the ghost table is (leaving the good table in the temp doc you created for it. If so, delete it. why it is not showing on screen could be due to a setting in your Set-up Options -- the first item in the "Show document content" section of the Advanced page. Let me know. |

Yes, the 'ghost table' is still there after cutting the table into a new document. There doesn't seem to be anything in any header and footer apart from page numbers I inserted.
I tried the 'Select Objects' tool but there is nothing where the table was to delete Thanks Mark |

Post?
Any chance you can post the document, or, if it has sections, the section? Perhpas I can figure it out if I can poke around a bit. Otherwise, I'll have to hope someone else has a better insight.

SOLVED:
A copy of the table was located in the text box above the table. Selecting the text box showed the bottom of the text box was at the top of the table, but expanding the text box to its full size (by dragging downwards) showed the extra copy of the table on top of the intended one. Thanks for the help though, it was very much appreciated! Mark |
