Default indents on the normal template
I have been unable to accomplish the following, after many attempts and looking online and am seeking help.
I write a lot of instructions for my job and I do not like the default indents that come with the normal template in Word. I was able to accomplish what I need to do by setting up a multilevel list but I want to know if it is possible to set my normal template so that the indents are already there when I start a new instruction. I want to set the first indent at .25 for the bullet with the hanging indent (where the text starts) set at .5 after the bullet. I then want the second indent at .75 with the hanging indent at 1.25, the third indent at 1.25 with the hanging indent at 1.75, the fourth indent at 1.75 with the hanging indent at 2.25 and the fifth indent at 2.25 with the hanging indent at 2.75. I tried typing an instruction and set the indents as shown above then selected to make the settings the default for all new documents based on the normal template but when I went to try a new instruction, my indents were not there. Any help is much appreciated. I am using Word 2010. |

Set up a multilevel list with the desired bullet formatting and indentation. See http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/bull...s20072010.html. When you are done, you can turn the file into a template for easy re-use.
