I have a large legal document that several attorneys are working on. It has numerous exhibits to be attached and they are referenced in the document.
I want to be able to have the exhibit #s (i.e. Exhibit 1) to be set to change whenever an exhibit is added or removed. I have achieved this with the caption feature, but I need to be able to link certain exhibits to others (i.e. if exhibit 7 is referenced again in the document I don't want to use the caption feature to auto sequence the exhibit number, I want it to refer to the original exhibit 7). How do I achieve this? Thanks in advance for your help! |

You can create cross-references to caption numbers using the Cross-reference dialog box (References tab | Cross-reference). In the "Reference type" box, select the caption label, click the desired caption in the "For which numbered item" box. Choose the relevant option for "Insert reference to" and then click Insert.
