Figure indexing and navigation problem
I am encountering a problem with the figure indexing system. I have specified a style for figure captions, specified this as the designator in the figure table settings, and designated it to all the captions. But when the document requires figures to be wrapped by the text (e.g. 'square' or 'top and bottom') the caption must sit in a text box. When this happens the navigation map fails to identify it as a figure. I think this leads to the problem of new figure captions being mis-numbered. Any ideas?
The only workaround I can think of is to include some tiny titles in small/white/transparent font with the same text and designate them as the headings, but it seems unnecessary. |

A numbered paragraph inside a text box will not be part of the same sequence as paragraphs outside of the text box, even if all paragraphs use the same numbered style; that is correct.
Have you considered using Word's Caption feature (References tab | Insert Caption) instead of paragraph numbering for captions?
