Why is it impossible to find anything in Word?!?!?
All I want is to create a macro of some kind that sets me to 10pt green courier, and another that will set me back to the usual font characteristics. I cannot figure out for the life of me where to make this happen. I tried creating a macro and it put me into a Visual Basic developers' mode. I don't know Visual Basic. I just want to change the stupid font characteristics. Why is it so hard? What is wrong with older versions of Word where things were put into menus that made at least some kind of sense? Anyway, can anyone just tell me the quickest, easiest, spend-the-fewest-months-of-learning-new-Word-bullshit method for changing the font characteristics to something I want and then assigning that change to a specific set of key strokes? Thanks to all gurus who can translate this idiotic application into plain language that can be understood by mortals. Also, I hate Word and all other apps that require a stinking graduate degree before they're even minimally useful. |

Create character style(s) with the font characteristics you want.
Assign keyboard shortcut(s) to those style(s). Understanding Styles in Microsoft Word Word is not simple. Sorry. If you buy a four-wheel drive off-road vehicle and don't learn how to use it, it can kill you or others. If you use Word and don't learn how to use it, it may mangle your words. If you don't use Word at least two hours a week, you may be better off choosing a simpler product. If you do, you need to learn styles. It will save you time and grief. It really is that simple. |
