I love the feature that allows me to include linked tables and cells from a spreadsheet into Word.

But here's what happens. Sometimes when I make changes to the spreadsheet, the corresponding changes in the Word document occur instantaneously. I love that.

But other times, the changes do NOT occur instantly...I must first CLOSE the Word document and then REOPEN it (and, when prompted, say "yes" to the question that I want the links updated from the spreadsheet) in order to get the changes made in Word.

Now, this isn't a big problem because the changes always end up being made...but I would MUCH prefer to have the changes made instantly because it saves time and is much more convenient to see the linked changes right away.

I can't figure out what I am doing to have it done instantly. Anyone have an idea?

Never mind. I figured it out myself.

You gotta open up the spreadsheet first, before you open the Word document, instead of vice-versa. That way, all changes to the spreadsheet are instantly updated to the Word document. The other way around, you have to close the Word document and reopen it to have the changes updated.

Simple solution, I should have tried it first before posting here.
