Occasionally I get documents in foreign languages like german and french.
When I open them I got always a warning popup: "Word hyphenation feature is not available. Run the MS Office Setup program..." Yes, I could buy and install the hyphenation feature for these languages as well. But I don't want it. How can I PERMANENTLY and FOREVER and FOR ALL DOCS (even english) disable this popup resp feature (in Word2007)? The docs itself should NOT be touched. Peter |

There are several options for disabling spellchecking (some of these are document-specific and others are installation-specific; see http://wordfaqs.mvps.org/MasterSpellCheck.htm).
However, if you want to suppress hyphenation, you must apply "Do not check spelling or grammar" formatting to the text in the document. You can apply this as a style or to the selected text via Review tab | Set Language.

You can instruct Word not to check spelling automatically, but, as far as I know, this doesn't affect the automatic hyphenation activated by the document creator. Adding "Don't check spelling or grammar" formatting to text will suppress the message. I do realize that this isn't what you were hoping for.
