Default Changing the placeholder text for drop down boxes

Is there a way to change the placeholder text "Choose an item" to something else without changing the color.

By default if I were to highlight the placeholder text and type over it, it would turn black. To fix that of course i can change that font color back to grey. However when I change the font back to grey, once and answer is selected, it remains grey as well.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Batteries

Found the solution. If you click "Design View" you can edit the name and it works.
