Thesis help
Hello all,
This is my first post, I am currently writing up my engineering thesis using Microsoft Word 2007, and I must say so far I have been impressed. With over 200 pages it seems stable and nice to work with. There are a few issues I would like to resolve. 1) I understand the basics of section breaks and how this gives you flexibility to customise the headers and footers seperately for each section. This also allows us to start page numbers for a specified number for each section which is very useful. I have created a section break for each chapter, and the header in each section is the title of that section e.g. "Chapter 2 - Literature Review". This is fine. However, I wanted to know if there was a way of linking the heading titles e.g. Header 1, Header 2, etc to the section header. e.g. If on Page 50 the heading was: 2.2.3. Theoretical Model then the header would say "2.2.3. Theoretical Model". I look forward to any advice or input Thanks. |

Hi Olword,
You can do that with a STYLEREF field in the header. See Insert|QuickParts|Field > StyleRef > Style Name
