![]() I created a new document based off the "Spectrum" template in Word 2011 and am attempting to customize the colors. I've been able to change the shape colors as I please (which then also get saved in my color palette as "Recent Colors" whenever I format a shape); however when I try to change text color, it automatically goes to the closest color in the theme instead of the custom color I'm trying to use. Any idea how to get around this? I was recently working from a different template and did not have this problem.. I tried saving my theme after changing the colors as well but it didn't seem to save any of the new colors, so I'm not sure if I did that correctly.. any help with creating/saving custom themes would be useful as well. |

hi choy,
Can you attach the document to a post (delete any sensitive data) to demonstrate the issue? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab.

I actually figured a way around the color issue - if I use the RGB sliders instead of CMYK they show up correctly and stay that way.
However I am still trying to figure out how to save my custom colors and fonts - is there a way to just create a custom theme and format all the styles in one window, or a way to save styles you've already used in the document (also to label font styles as a "Heading", "Body Text", etc)? I don't know if it helps but I've attached a rough draft of the document just in case. |

You can change the font attributes in the various Styles, but I'd check whether you actually need to do that (i.e. is the printout is adversely affected by the theme colouring?).
PS: There was no attachment to your post.
