Default Making Table from Text with Many Columns

How do I make a (multi-line, neat looking) table out of the following text? Thanks.

Put a Tab character between each column. Don't worry about appearance.

Then select your text and convert text to a table, choosing tab delimiter.

I have the tabs.

It comes out on 2 lines with some vertical words.

Probably it should be 3-4 lines with unbroken words.

How can I tell it not to break words?

Word document attached.

Changing the orientation to landscape and the font size to 7 seemed to do it.

I can't change the orientation, it is part of a (portrait) document. Calibri is used, smallest size is 8.

You can use point sizes down to 1pt, in 0.5pt increments, by simply typing the required size into the size combobox.

Also, the document you posted is in portrait layout, not landscape.

Using Calibri 5 worked. I was hoping though for a more readable solution.

You could try Arial Narrow. Being a narrow font, you can use larger point sizes. Ultimately, though, you're going to be constrained by the space you're trying to fit the table into. Reducing the size of the cell margins (typically ~.075in) will also give you more text space.

I just leave it as it is, unformatted text.

We computer people are used to this kind of unformatted results anyhow.

You can change the orientation of a single section (page) in Word. Insert a Section break (next page) and change the orientation to Landscape. Then insert another Section break (next page after your table and change back to Portrait.

Or, select your table and change the orientation to Landscape which should automatically insert the section breaks.

Thanks Charles.

I find your advise too adventurous for me in the middle of a book document.

I just leave it as unformatted text.

Computer programmers face this kind of messy text output occasionally, so they better get used to it.

OK, I understand not messing with something that is working.
You could try it on a copy, though.

One thing I don't get it.

If I make it landscape, is it going to hang out from a portrait document?

No, the page will print sideways. People will have to turn the document to read that page. The choice is they can do that or get out a magnifying glass.

Thanks Charles.

Guttenberg would be jealous of the inkjet printer for the capacity to print such tiny font letters.
