Default URLs in citations

Hello,

I am trying to use the Reference Manager that comes with Word 2010.

My problem is that almost every source I want to cite (whether it's a journal article, report, etc.) is something I've accessed online. Therefore each one should have a URL and a "date accessed" field in the citation.

However, the only type of source I can choose to capture that data is "document from website". And when I choose that type, then the fields to fill in for the bibliography do not capture the right info for journal articles, reports, etc.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

The 'Document from website' option includes fields for the access day, month and year. Depending on the referencing format you're using, you may need to click on the 'Show all bibliography fields' option on the 'Create Source' dialogue to see them.

Thanks macropod, but the "Document from Website" option does not have fields to capture Journal Name, Volume, Issue #, pages, etc. that I would need to properly reference a scientific journal article.

The best solution I have found so far is to choose the "Journal Article" option and then put the URL and date accessed in the comments field. It's certainly not perfect, though.

If you've downloaded a journal article, that has " Journal Name, Volume, Issue #, pages, etc.", you don't need any of the website info - to include it would be like including the name of a library from which you borrow a book.
