Footnotes: custome number format
I'd like my footnotes to proceed as *, **, ***, etc., restarting on each page. I am not finding a way for Word 2010 to do this---the "number format" option has one beginning with an asterisk, but then proceeds to a dagger, and if I choose "custom mark," it doesn't automatically make the second footnote on a page a double asterisk, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Word's automatic footnote numering options are limited to the ones you've seen. Multiple asterisk sequences are not possible.

OK. A belated (though disappointed) thanks.
