Default File conversion Warning Box On Save

Hey,

I normally save word doc by hitting the red x and then direct the doc to appropriate place.

lately been getting a "File Conversion" warning box. The box offers 3 options Windows/dos/other but when I use each one experimentally - they all lose my infor or scramble it?

I don't understand and have not had this problem until recently - any ideas?

I use Mic Word 07.

It should be something to do the template, some files are missing or replaced. I suggest you to reinstall Word.

Thanks for that - reinstalling is always an option but I was hoping for something simpler....

It's been more than a week. Actually reinstallation is often the most effective solution for strange errors, which should take you less than one hour. It doesn't necessarily solve your problem, though.

You would rather wait for two weeks and don't want to reinstall. I just don't understand.

I don't understand why there is not a technical answer to this problem - anyone can uninstall and reinstall?

There probably IS a technical answer - but then it would require a chance to actually get to your machine and find what exact files are missing, and where they have got to - then try to figure out why - and then finally - reinstall, because it's most likely that the missing files have been deleted in the first place!

You don't need to uninstall first - just go through the install process and choose 'Repair' when asked! Takes less than an hour!! Which is nowhere near as long as it would take for the technical solution!
