What's the best DOCX -> PDF Converter?
Hello All,
I create high quality detailed DOCX files that use custom fonts and I have to save my DOCX files as PDF's to ensure that my documents look the same on multiple computers. I've still yet to find the "perfect" DOCX -> PDF conversion program. None seem to preserve hyperlinks, others make my shadow effects look dithered, sometimes where I have an alpha layer white jagged edges appear where they don't in the DOCX... so frustrating. I can't justify spending $500 on Acrobat, but would be willing to spend $50 or so, but ideally there is something free out there that will do the trick. I've googled for this answer, searched these forums, tried about ten different converters and still haven't been 100% happy. Can you guys suggest any that I should try? - Gregan |

try doPDF v7...I use it to convert 300dpi images in docx to PDF for publishing - works a treat
Also nitro-pdf and/or Infix both are great but will cost. Also note you're using MAC - look at Scrivener which is more than a PDF converter but does the job Oh another thing - Word compresses images to 200dpi unless you remove the restriction, therefore loss in resolution. Don't forget to embed your fonts else it will do exactly what you describe. |
