copy and move not working
This is really perplexing. Since getting W7, I have been able to highlight a block to text, then catch the corner of the highlight, and move the block to a new location.
I have done nothing to change the program, but now if I highlight a block, then start to move it, the highlighting is lost, and as I move the cursor, a new block is highlighted. How do I get back to the program functions before whatever happened? |

Is the "Allow text to be dragged and dropped" option selected in Office button | Word Options | Advanced?

I don't know what I am missing here, but where is the "office button" you refer to? I've looked at every menu, everything, but I do not find ANY references to options.
Is there a master program, which allows you to open each program that makes up Office? I've even checked every .exe file in my program listing that is under Microsoft Office. When I open Word, that's it, just Word. As an aside, it is curious that Word does not seem to have an "about." I know I have Office 2007, but I could not prove it by anything accessible from Word [or anyof the other Office program for that matter] I guess I need a bit of hand holding to find my way to the Word options. |

OK, I see what you m,ean by Office Button, but there is nothing leading to an options menu. There are the save, open, publish, etc, but nothing regarding options.

After you click the Office (Pizza) button, at the bottom of the box that opens up is "Word Options."

Wow! How many time must I click the Office Button before noticing the word options button at the bottom. I had never noticed it before, but there it is.
Thank you, problem fixed. |

For what it's worth, Word 2010 reintroduces the File menu (called the File "tab"), which makes Word feel almost familiar again. :-)

One last question, if I can. Why is there no "about" button? how does a user know what version or build he is using?
