Default Help! What Are These & How Do I Kill Them?

I have an issue in a current manuscript I'm working on in Word 2010. Several pages have grown a set of solid, heavy double lines that run across the margins. I can't select them, so I can't remove them with delete, but backspacing doesn't remove them either. I first noticed them cropping up after I typed in four pound signs: #### and a return. I use the four pound signs to indicate a passage of time in the story. If I "Undo" as soon as they are created, they disappear, but there are four or five of them spread through the Manuscript that I can't get rid of. If I select everything and then paste the text into a new document, they show up again, but if I select only a page where they appear and paste that page into a new doc, they are not there. Anyone know what these are and how to get rid of them while preserving my text?

These are AutoCorrect trying to help you make a line by creating a paragraph border. See Weird Lines and Borders

Thanks -- that fixed it and now I can shut it down so it won't happen again! Much appreciated.
