Default email address comes up in blue or black

I have typed two documents in word 2010, both of which include an email address. However in one of the documents the email address comes up in blue, in the other, it doesn't. How can I make them both come up in blue (or both in black)?

When you type a URL or email address, Word automatically creates a hyperlink for that. Select the email address, right click, and select 'Remove Hyperlink' (or add a hyperlink to the email address in the other document).

Assuming that in the one that comes up in black you did not type anything after the email address, Word's AutoCorrect would not be triggered to make it a hyperlink. The way these appear is controlled by the styles "Hyperlink" and "Followed Hyperlink" which assigns different colors and sets these as underlined.

If you don't want an active hyperlink in your document and don't want it underlined, you can remove the hyperlink as suggested or you can press UnDo Ctrl-Z immediately after the change to a hyperlink.
