I have a WORD header that contains:


(a) 5 paragraphs of text (each a single short line, right-justified):
(b) a picture, and
(c) a line that crosses the page from edge to edge.
-All 5 paragraphs have equal formatting (right alignment, body text outline, indentation left -0.3", indentation right -0.3", special is (none), no mirror indents, 0 pt spacing before and after, line spacing single) except that the third paragraph has 5 pt spacing after.

PROBLEM: Periodically in Print Layout View, an extra (blank) line appears on-screen between paragraphs 4 and 5. When this happens everything on-screen below the header is pushed down one line. When the document is printed, the blank line is not there. It is possible to "get rid of" the blank line on-screen by selecting to show the (normally hidden) paragraph markers. When they are shown, the blank line disappears and formatting appears to be normal. When the are again turned off, the blank line reappears. It is also possible to "get rid of" the blank line by re-typing the fourth paragraph, or the third one, but eventually while editing the document, the blank line reappears.

Does anyone know what causes this and what the means of preventing it would be? Nothing is accomplished by changing the positions of the picture and the line, or changing their attributes.

This may be just a display driver issue. Check you display card maker's website for an updated driver.
