Cool Remove unwanted Page in a Section Break

I have a document with no section breaks. But when I insert a section break to commence on next page it inserts a blank page. So I have my document as per normal with 10 pages, insert a break for next page this makes this page No. 11 which is blank, and then the remaining document commences on page 12. I have tried deleting the break and inserting it again. I have broken the document up into two files... but this really isn't a great idea, but could get it to work. But I WANT TO KNOW why I get this blank page. I am using the break to change the headers and footers. I read on site somewhere to go into WORD OPTIONS/ADVANCED and under layout options select the option of LAYOUT FOOTNOTES THE WAY WORD 6.X/95/97 does, of course it doesn't work because my problem is the break and changing the Headers and Footers. I am pretty good at Word, but this has got me stumped. Thanks for any help I can receive.
