Missing Spell Check Language
I have a user that is unable to use spell check with the standard english language. I checked her settings and they are all correct but i did notice that the abc symbol with the check mark under it is missing next to the english language. Other ones selected with this symbol will spell check, but it is missing from English. Do i have to reinstall or is there a way to fix this?

Is it possible that the required dictionary for English spelling check is missing? 'Tools -> Spelling and Grammar' will bring up a dialog, you can select a language on it, if the dictionary is missing, you will be reminded to install it.

No the directory is there. All th languages show up when i go there, its just that the little abc symbol with the check mark (spell check symbol) is missing next to the english language.

Sorry, I can't seem to see the interface you described. I'm using Word 2003.

ah yea the interface is different from 2003 - 2007. I was just trying to see if there was a way around reinstalling it because the computer is heavily used. I may just have to bite the bullet and re install it for the user
