I have 30 word docs (running 2003) and wish to update the footers in all.
i.e. update 2 words in the footer. I have seen a download that does this, but not sure I trust it, as the sites seem a little dodgy. Any ideas? |

Hi,
If I understand correctly, you wish to either add two new additional words or change two existing words. If this is the situation, have you considered using a Macro? I have attached the code for a simple macro that will change the text in a footer. In this example it changes the phrase "Old Data" to "New Data". You only need to create the macro once but you would have to open your individual documents and run the macro for each document. However since you only have 30 documents, it should not take too long. If you are unsure about how to create a macro, let me know and I'll try to help. Regards, Zade |

Cheers, i did think of a Macro, but was also thinking of how to do it without opening the files.
I often have folders with upto 100 docs in (Test Scripts) and so changing the content, i.e. footer, which opening would be useful. |
