equation automatic resize

I'm using MS Office 2007 and have a following issue:

when I type in an equation (using the editor in the "instert" tab, not sure though about the tab being called "insert" since I use a different language version than Eng); and then if I place some regular text after it, the equation gets resized. What can I do to avoid that?
