I have a Word doc that has been created. Has headers, footers and they'd like to number the pages. But they want to start page #1 on page 3 of the document. How do I do that?

The document will need to have a section break at the end of the text on page 2. This will break the document up into sections (chunks). Each chunk can have its own page numbering. Be aware that by default each section header and footer will be linked to the previous one so you will need to unlink the footer from section 2 to the section 1 footer. You can find this option on the headers and footers toolbar. Its called 'Link to Previous'. Once this is done you can insert page numbers (in section 2 footer) via the menu: Insert >> Page Numbers.
Let me know if you need further assistance with this. Last edited by caholmes; 02-21-2009 at 05:05 PM. |

Hi,
To check ( and alter ) page numbers, place the cursor on the page you wish to set as the starting page. From the Main Toolbar select Insert > Page Numbers Click the Format button. Enter the page number where you want the numbering to start. Please see screenshot for more details. Regards, Zade |
