Default complex text formatting

Hi,

I need a complex () page format. I need:
1 - header and footer
2 - image on a left side
3 - text on the right side
of all the page.

For number 1, no prob
for number 2 and 3, I think to use colum.
But I need to use column as a header/footer. I mean:
I need to put the same image on the left of the page, and I need to have text near the image (on the right)
I try with column, but maybe I do not set somethings.
It seem that the two column are connected. I mean: if the first column is not full, the text slide from the right column to the left column.

But, as I said, I need that the first column contain just the image (like if it is a header)

Do someone can sudgest me how can I obtain that?

TIA

Renato

Put the image in the first-page header and set wrapping to wrap the right. If your image does not take up all the area you want in the left column, put it inside a textbox without borders, also set for wrapping text to the right.

Hi Charles,
Thank you for your response, but I did not understund.
My image is 116 x 1024, so it spam for all the page.
If I put it on the header, I will have the header spam for all the page

I need to put this image on the left, and for that I thought to column. But I don't need column. I need to put an image on the left side of the page. Is there a different solution?

TIA

Renato

I don't understand "spam for all the page."

An image can be in a page or in a header. It can be set for text to wrap to the side. It is like having a different margin or indent except that it is really the edge of the image plus padding.

You may want to look at the Letterhead Textboxes and Styles Tutorial. A textbox acts like an image for these purposes. The idea is to have the text wrap to the right of the image, whether it is in the header or in the page.

Hi Charles,
thank you for your tip. This "could" be tha solution, but I still have a need:
Is it possible to tell to word (setting somethings) that this text box must appear in every page?

Thank you

Renato

Assuming what you mean by text box is the holder for the image we were talking about,...

Put the text box in the header (not the first page header or in addition to in the first page header). Remember to format the text box to wrap text to the right.

Hi!
I've solved! This was a "false" problem! I mean I just put the image on the header, set it as "behind the text" left alligned and it spam for all the page (is 23 cm high) and it' is repeated for alla the pages.

Thank you a lot Charles
