Default footer formatting error

I have a document with odd page numbers showing on the right side of the footer and even page numbers showing on the left side of the footer. I have the page number formatted to a font called "agency". My odd page numbers are all coming out correct, but my even page numbers are reverting to the default font for the page (times new roman). I can not figure out what the glitch is! any help would be appreciated!

The program refuses to produce the page number in the font that I have chosen, but it's only happening on the even pages.

Go to a page where the problem is present (an even page) and under the Insert tab go to Footer and click the choice to edit the footer. Find your page number and set your font for it. Make sure the tag on your footer window doesn't say "odd page footer." For more see Sections / Headers and Footers 2007.

Thank you for trying to help. Yes, I have the font formatted correctly on the even page footers too. But the program is ignoring my font and using times new roman (which is the default for the page). It is so infuriating. There are no hidden codes anywhere that I know of that can be doing this.

Is this perhaps a legacy document from an earlier version of Word?

If so, the page number may be inside a Frame or have special formatting applied to it. Try deleting the entire footer text and retyping it. When you get to the place for the page number type the word "page" without the quotation marks, select the word, and press the Ctrl-F9 key combination followed by F9. Format that page number with the font you want and see if it sticks.
