Hello,
I am using word student edition 2010 version 14 with XP Windows as the operating system on a Dell machine. I've never had this problem before, but suddenly yesterday Word stopped pasting in the manner I was used to it doing. In the past when I pasted Word defaulted to using the destination format and I would get a number of choices to use from plain text to retain source formatting. Now all I have is the plain text option and there is not even paste special unless I go up to the paste menu on the upper left of the window. Paste special only gives the option of using plain text or unformatted text. I have checked the options for paste and they all seem to be set the way they always have been with the use destination formatting as the primary choice. The only clue I have is if I do select the paste special option from the upper left paste menu it says Source Unknown, even though the source is the same document through the computers clipboard. The only things I can think of is that some setting has been flipped I am unaware of or there is a problem with Word reading to or from the clipboard. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Robert |

Hi Robert,
I am unable to help, however, I have this week encountered similar problems using Word 2007 & Excel. I can no longer copy tables, contents of tables, formulae etc. in either of these MS office applications. Are there any other users out there who are experiencing similar problems since the last MS update on 16/3. Rik |

Hi Robert,
The first thing I'd suggest is repairing Word, via 'Programs & Features' in the Windows Control Panel. If that doesn't work, there are additional steps you can take, at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921541, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925175

Hi Robert,
It seems a recent Skype Click-to-Call browser add-in is causing problems like this on many systems. If you have that, you may need to disable or uninstall this add-in until Skype releases a fix.

Hi everyone. The following is to CONFIRM that the copy-paste losing format error is in fact, caused by Skype Click To Call. So go to CTRL Panel and unistall. Good luck!
