Pages are Created, and need to make a booklet
Okay gang,
I went through $150 in color copies at Staples trying to get by booklets printed there, but I think there can be a way to do this at home. The pages are already created, and they range from a installation manual, some spec sheets, etc etc for my business. They are in both PDF and Word Formats. I want to be able to pick a software that will allow me to "insert" each page or pages in order and allow me to quickly print them using the 2 sided print option. I have Office 2010 with the Publisher upgrade. Please advise. Thanks Jeremy |

I would recommend looking into the capabilities of Publisher. I don't know much about Publisher.

Me either. I just downloaded it today. It looks more like a graphic design program, which is WAY over my head than a booklet maker...

It is intended as a program to layout publications. Check out the included or downloadable templates.

I already have the pages created I just need to assemble them in order for printing. I tried to print every page individually and scan, but the quality was reduced too far. There has to be a simple way to do this...

Word can easily combine content from several documents (and various other files) into one document. And, though Word produces page-based output, it's internal workings are not at the page level - unlike page layout software, it uses information from the current printer driver to format each page. You can, of course, use page breaks and Section breaks in Word to achieve a measure of page-level control, but that's not really how Word is intended to work. If you want page layout software, as distinct to a word processor, you'll need an application like Publisher.

It depends one what you mean by booklet, the issue being whether you mean to print two up, both sides, and then center-staple or bind the pages. If so, you do need a layout program (composer), which can calculate the new order of the pages so that they appear in the correct order when bound. For this, the document would have to be converted to a pdf or other page-unit file.
