Angry Can't copy/cut and paste text in Word 2002

I am using Word 2002 that came as a bundle with MS Works Suite 2006. When I copy or cut and paste text in my Word document, it pastes as an image. I've tried to copy/cut and paste a block of text from my Word document to Notepad and WordPad and it still pastes an image of the active window I am working in. I do use the Print Screen feature when I am working sometimes to copy the current window and make an image of it for a different purpose. But now I can't copy and paste text at all in a Word document. Whatever text I copy or cut, it pastes as an image. I use copy and paste extensively when I am working. I'm sure I just need to enable or disable something in Word or Windows, but I don't know what. Please help, thanks.
