Default Picture cropping

Microsoft Office Professional 2010
After cropping a picture in Word using the Crop button and saving it in My Pictures the picture appears as if it has not been cropped
How can I crop a picture and save it in its cropped state?

Word won't actually crop the picture, it merely shows a region of the picture, hiding the area you don't want. It's not designed to be a photo editor. You want Photoshop / MS Paint / Paint Shop Pro for that.
