I am trying to convert one PDF file to Doc file to copy part of the specifications. I was able to convert the files to Doc file however the converted file is becoming a picture. Thus, I cannot copy the selected section.
I am running Office 2010 pro.

I have tried the export. I have tried on line conversion without luck.



Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

What you can do in Word with a converted PDF depends on what the PDF contained. If the PDF's pages were just page images, rather than text, then converting the PDF to Word is still going to leave you with nothing more than page images.

Some PDFs combine page images with searchable text. When you convert these PDFs to Word, you typically end up with page images overlaying the text, which you can access by deleting the images.

So, without seeing the PDF, it's difficult to say what situation applies in your case.

I have attached the file that I tried to convert to Doc. As an interim - I have scanned the printed page in PDF and then converted in DOC. It worked. I still like to know how can I convert page like attached in DOC file that can be edited.

Your PDF is basically a copy of a web page stored as an image, with minimal actual text (ie most of the 'text' is just an image of the text). However, you can obtain a PDF with all the text as text from: http://www.king-electric.com/PDF/KCV%2044-45.pdf

Charles is right - I didn't convert anything. I simply followed the link in your own PDF and found a page on that site where the original data could be downloaded in their own PDF.

If I wanted to copy text from an image file, I would first try an OCR program to see if that would help. If not, I would print out the image and scan it in using a program that did produce a searchable pdf file.

Personally, I think obtaining the original file, with the text, is the better approach if it's viable. In this case, it took about 1 minute.
