Default How to make Quick Access Toolbar icons smaller in XP

Is there a way to make the Quick Access Toolbar icons smaller in XP. I changed the Windows appearance properties to "Normal" for fonts instead of large but it didn't help my situation. If I use the same amount of icons on the QAT in Vista and in XP, they all fit in Vista but in XP I get one of these (>>) at the end of the toolbar and I have to click it every time I want to see all the icons. I'd like to see them all in one view if possible. Thanks a lot.

I believe changing the screen resolution is the only thing you can do.
