A large Word file won't open
I have compiled a fairly large amount of simple texts into one Word file (1,970KB) in Word 2003. I used to be able to open the file more than once after saving it. Since its size is fairly large, it would hang at first, like for a minute, but would eventually open. But strangely enough when I tried to open the same file a few days later, it keeps hanging like forever and eventually crashes on me. I rebooted my computer and tried to open it but to no avail.
I have another file whose size is 1,369KB, which file I can easily open after a few seconds of hanging. Now what, if any, can I do to be able to open the first file of 1,970KB mentioned above? Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Jung |

Hi Jung,
1,970KB is not especially large for a Word file. Word files can have 32MB (32,768KB) of text and can be up to 512MB overall. Your problems suggest a corrupt document. You may be able to recover the content by choosing File|Open and, before clicking 'Open', choose 'Recover text from any file' from the 'files of type' dropdown.
