Default Outline Codes

How do I remove codes from an outline when I can't see the codes? I need to change them from a previously formatted document?

What application are you referring to? If it's Word, and you've been working in Outline mode, simply changing between the Outline and, say, Print Layout views are all that's needed. There are no 'outline codes' to remove - it's just a display mode.

Default Outline Styles

I guess I should have said outline "styles". I ended up going into Home, Paragraph, ¶, then deleting all the ¶s. Then I reformatted it the way it needed to be. Is there an easier way to do this? I was fortunate that it was just a small document. I tried to use Ctrl + Spacebar, but the document was complex enough so that it messed up the columns. I'd appreciate any help you can give me on this.

If all you want to do is to hide the formatting marks, click on the ¶ symbol on the Home tab.

Beyond that, without seeing the document and knowing exactly what it is you're trying to achieve, it's impossible to give firm advice. If attach a copy of the document (via the paperclip symbol on the Go Advanced tab) and say what you're trying to achieve, I'll take a look at it.

Sorry, can't send the document as I deleted it in frustration and retyped the five pages, setting my own outline format. Basically, what I was trying to do was change the existing outline style to a style requested by my client.
