Hi Luc,

With the technique in the link, the count can be gained for whatever text you select, but that isn't inserted into the document. Word doesn't have any built-in tools for inserting a character count or word count for a section into the document. You could do this with a macro, but the number would be just plain text and wouldn't update. And, once it's inserted as plain text, updating that number becomes problematic.
