Default Check box macro help needed

I'm using Word 2010 and have a form with several items, each with 3 check boxes. I would like to have it so that if the user clicks on box number 1, it will automatically select box number 3. Is there an easy macro to do this, or is there a better solution?

An easy macro? Depends on what you mean by easy. I don't have one on hand.

For anyone to assist you on this it will depend on which kind of checkbox you are using. Are you using the Word 2010 content control checkbox or the legacy form checkbox which requires you to protect the document for forms to activate the checkbox?

Thanks for the reply, I am using the legacy form check box which requires you to protect the document in order to activate the check box. I hope that helps.

OK. You need sequencing macro. See How to set the tab order in a Word protected form.

A viable alternative may be to use a dropdown formfield with Yes/No choices. As for the 'automatically select box number 3' part, if all you're trying to do is to control content that depends on the first choice, an IF formula field should be able to do the job, all without the need for a macro.
