Default Converting a PDF to Word 2007

I want to convert a PDF to Word 2007 while retaining the format and being able to edit the text, images, etc. I have tried downloading 10 different PDF to Word converters none have done anything except paste the PDF into Word as a picture.
I don't want to download anything else but if someone knows something that works software or not I would appreciate it.

Hi seamusdoone,

If you can't actually select the text in the PDF, that indicates that the 'text' in it is only a picture.

Default What can I do to change this?

Hello,

I have altered a pre existing PDF in Photoshop then I saved it as both a Photoshop PDF and a JPEG so could create a PDF in Acrobat. What program should I alter these in so that I can transform this into an editable format in Word?

Hi seamusdoone,

Converting to a jpg is a bad move. Not only does this move you one step further away from the original, but the jpg format uses 'lossy' compression, meaning that it throws away some of the data you'd need for a reliable OCR conversion. Go back to the PDF an work with that, directly. If you can post a copy of the PDF here, I'll take a look at it and tell you what can be done.

Default thank you for your response

I appreciate your response but unfortunately I cannot post here. So you are saying to develop entirely as a form in Acrobat and then convert through OCR to word. So create a PDF Form is your answer?

Hi seamusdoone,

No, I'm not saying that at all. Rather, if you want to convert a PDF to Word, then convert that, not a picture of it (especially not a jpg picture if you want to recover text via OCR).

Of course, if (a) you do have an application like Adobe Acrobat Pro and (b) the document is suitable for adding PDF formfields to and (c) that will meet you needs, then creating and using a PDF form might be the best way to go. I can't say, though as I haven't seen the PDF and, until your last post, I wasn't even aware that you might want to use it as a form.

I appreciate your responses, I am going to attempt to do this through Acrobat, if this does not work I will post again.
