Default Form file timesheet, auto fill date from calander

Please someone help the IT challanged.
I have created a timesheet for our employees that is form filled. I want the date to automatically select in the table below when they insert the date from the calander above. This is probably something easy but I am not an IT person and don't have one at my new employment, just trying to make it easier for our employees so that we can get a correct timesheet that they don't leave wrong information in so that we are having to send it back constantly. Also wanting everything to total.
Thanks in advance.

Jeannie

Hi Jeannie,

Word really isn't the tool for this sort of thing - Excel is far better suited, being able to perform all the required calculations as well using its inbuilt functions (all of which would have to be coded in Word.

If you want to see what's involved in getting Word to do date-based calculations for something as seemingly simple as incrementing a date, check out my Microsoft Word Date Calculation Tutorial, at:
http://lounge.windowssecrets.com/ind...owtopic=249902
or
http://www.gmayor.com/downloads.htm#Third_party
In particular, look at the items titled 'Calculate a Date Sequence' and 'Date and Time Calculations In A Word Form'. Do read the document's introductory material.

An alternative would be to use a macro. This would be much simpler, but has the disadvantage that they are easily disabled.

My recommendation: Use Excel. There are many Excel timesheet templates available on the web that could be adapted to your needs.
