Default Projects: Making bullet points invisible but restorable

Hi,

I hope somebody can help me with my question. I want to use Word for managing my projects. My idea setup would be basically multi-level bullet point lists where I can 'check off' tasks and projects that are finished so that they become invisible in the list (so that the list doesn't become too cluttered) but also so that they can be made visible again if I want to (so as to get an overview of all the tasks and projects the whole project consisted of).

To illustrate what I mean I will give 3 stages of a list below. In the first stage I have listed the projects and actions involved, in the second list I have made the tasks and projects that are finished invisible. In the third page they are restored again, but one can see which tasks and projects are completed and which not (in this case the completed tasks and actions are italicized)

LIST 1
Organize party for Sarah
- decide who to invite to the party
--- talk with Peter and Alison to get suggestions
--- check who Sarah's friends are on Facebook
- send invitation cards
--- collect the addresses of the people invited
------ look them up online
--- Google where to buy/make good but cheap invitation cards
--- buy cards
--- send them

- Make list of what food and drinks to buy and where to buy them

LIST 2 (finished tasks are made invisible)
Organize party for Sarah
- decide who to invite to the party
--- check who Sarah's friends are on Facebook
- send invitation cards
--- buy cards
--- send them
- Make list of what food and drinks to buy and where to buy them

LIST 3 (finished tasks are visible but marked as finished by e.g. italicizing them)
Organize party for Sarah
- decide who to invite to the party
--- talk with Peter and Alison to get suggestions
--- check who Sarah's friends are on Facebook
--- collect the addresses of the people invited
------ look them up online

- send invitation cards
--- Google where to buy/make good but cheap invitation cards
--- buy cards
--- send them
- Make list of what food and drinks to buy and where to buy them

Any help would be appreciated

I found the solution by using the 'hidden text' feature http://www.online-tech-tips.com/ms-o...d-hidden-text/

That method is unreliable for a document to be used by others, because the display/hiding of text -and its printing - is controlled by their Word configuration, not the setting of the font attributes. The method there is extremely easy to circumvent, without changing any of the document content as the method presumes to be required. To display hidden text, simply go to File|Options|Display and check the 'hidden text' option. A similar option on the same dialogue box allows it to be printed also.
