Dear all,
I was trying to copy some footnotes from one worddocument to another. At first everything went well using the 'keep source formatting' option. But after some time my three different options disappear and I'm only left with the 'keep text only' option. The problem is solved when I log off as a user, log in again and restart word, but after some time the problem returns. I have already tried to find a solution in the advanced options menu, but it doesn't work. - I have selected 'Show Paste Options button when content is pasted' - And the other boxes have 'keep source formatting' as standard. I hope someone will say that this is just a stupid question and can deliver me an easy answer. Many thanks in advance, Dries |

This is totally happening to me too! I thought I had a virus or something but no! I reinstalled office (ripped it out totally), renamed my Normal.Dot file and nothing. I verified I have all the current service packs, which I suspect may be the problem. Possibly a windows update issue as well.
I have found no solution, it happens really randomly. I can't even paste within the same document, it doesn't keep the formatting, just "keep as text only". Frustrating! ![]() |

hi chicabean,
Reinstalling Office is usually not necessary and is often ineffective. Renaming Normal.dot, though it fixes many problems, doesn't address everything. Try the additional approaches suggested here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/921541 and http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...artingWord.htm for various troubleshooting steps that will help you track down (and hopefully solve) the problem.
